QUILT project at SMH Clin Epi Rounds

On behalf of the QUILT team, early findings will be presented by Ryan Brydges and Stella Ng at the SMH Clinical and Population Research Rounds.

Thursday, May 23 from 12pm-1pm in Li Ka Shing Room 240

They will present their joint project: An institutional ethnography of transfers of care and consults during labour & delivery

Contested workplaces in the health professions can lead to professional burnout, safety concerns, and poor patient outcome. Much evidence has established that the labour and deliver (L&D) unit is a contested workplace across numerous professional settings. We will present early findings from a study focused on the social coordination of transfers of care and consults between obstetricians, midwives, and nurses during labour and delivery care, identifying opportunities for improved processes.
