SEG-GM: Structured Educational Goal-setting for in-patient Geriatric Medicine

Led by Drs. Jillian Alston and Dov Gandell, this innovative project involves structuring the process by which residents set learning goals, and faculty help them achieve those goals, on the geriatrics clinical rotations at St. Michael’s Hospital and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Residents currently receive no training on how to optimize their learning climate, and the SEG-GM project will lead the way in establishing how we do this well.

AERO is working with Drs. Alston and Gandell to evaluate the outcomes and mechanisms of SEG_GM, and to conduct a systematic literature review aimed at collecting the best available evidence for establishing learning goals programs in residency training.
